Lucy Willcox’s Award Winning Planting Scheme – Sunny Border – Part 1
I am so pleased to be able to share this planting scheme from one of the borders from my own award-winning garden. This is an easy to follow and adaptable guide; listing the plants in the scheme and of course, planting plan.
The scheme will provide months of interest; from bold evergreen backbone to a bulb layer - bringing colour into the garden from early spring into early summer. Followed by the gorgeous ornamental grasses and flowering perennials, taking the scheme well into early winter.
The scheme is designed for a bed in full sun but some plants will tolerate part shade.
The majority of the plants prefer a moist and well-drained soil.
It is not suitable for heavy clay or very wet/boggy sites.

Colour Palette:
The colours in the scheme run from gorgeous whites to lilacs and through into very deep purples, with a splash of pinks at varying times and lots of lime greens in the spring, moving into russet tones into the Autumn and Winter.
